On Bank Holiday Monday, 27th May, Five Rivers Recruitment are sponsoring a brand-new event to Salisbury, The Five Rivers Festival!

The idea of the Festival is to ‘celebrate Salisbury’s rivers’, after naming our company after them 15 years ago, it is something we feel passionately about. The Festival co-ordinator, David Clayton, said “After all the turmoil of 2018, we hope we have been successful in setting up different and very fun event designed to appeal to both Salisbury residents and businesses. This year’s event will consist of two river and two land-based events; however, we are already planning to extend this to five river events in 2020.”

The festival is taking place across the city, the first around Ashley Green and the second at Churchill Gardens and the Sea Cadet building.  The first river event will be a gentle 0.75-mile float down the River Avon from Stink Pot Bridge to Ashley Green. Using their own inflatables, families can float down a beautiful stretch of the Avon River together while being cheered on by friends and family along the Avon Valley Board Walk.

For those of you who fancy trying something a bit different, there will also be a Bubble Football competition taking place all day on Fisherton Rec. The adult teams are mixed, and everyone will get plenty of time to have a go with the initial games being played on a ‘round robin’ basis. We are sure our resident football expert, Ivor will join in on the fun and games.

Meanwhile, on Ashley Green itself, Salisbury Fire Station will be holding a special Bank Holiday Car Boot sale. There will be plenty of other things going on around the Green as well as with refreshments being provided.

The second river event is a River Race, which will take place at Churchill Gardens, just down from New Bridge. The race is open to individuals and teams with their own inflatables! This has all the making for a very watchable event with viewing galleries available on three sides.

The Festival is being run as a charity event with Serve On, the Sea Cadets and Salisbury Rotary Club benefitting from the proceeds.
