Job Description

We are delighted to be working once again with a prestigious client based on the outskirts of Salisbury.  We are currently assisting with the recruitment of a permanent cleaning operative to join their busy facilities team.  The successful candidate will be required to work as part of a soft services team to provide accommodation and laboratory cleaning services across a range of facilities, including but not limited to;  office, washrooms, kitchens, common areas, meeting rooms and laboratories.

This is a full time, permanent role, covering 40 hrs per week, Monday to Friday.  There is some flexibility around start and finish times, as long as the core hours are covered.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out cleaning tasks to ensure that the agreed standards are met and maintained for all areas covered by the cleaning rotas and schedules
  • To work safely raising any health and safety risks or hazards through company reporting site procedures at the earliest opportunity
  • Ensure that any repairs discovered are reported to the cleaning lead at the earliest opportunity (e.g. a dripping tap or broken toilet seat in a washroom)
  • To carry out additional or special cleans as instructed by the cleaning lead using chemicals and equipment that are appropriate for the task
  • To liaise with customers and client contacts on a daily basis ensuring a professional approach with excellent customer service
  • To support with holiday and sickness cover reporting any shortfalls or areas of concern to the cleaning lead at the earliest opportunity
  • To address any corrective actions resulting from cleaning audits and/or feedback from the cleaning lead are dealt with swiftly
  • To attend mandatory training including online training to meet the timescales requested, raising any issues or concerns with the cleaning lead swiftly to resolve
  • Ensure that good housekeeping is adhered to including all storage areas and equipment
  • To act upon a reasonable request from the cleaning lead or management team

 

Skills & Experience

  • Previous cleaning experience an advantage
  • Awareness of health and safety and able to report risks & hazards
  • Strong customer service skills
  • English comprehension to a standard which is able to understand and action both written and oral instructions
  • A clear communicator
  • Able to work well independently and with a team
