Site Manager – Residential Construction
We are delighted to once again be working with a regional, high-end house building firm. We are working closely with them to recruit a Site Manager to work on their latest development near Ringwood.
You will be responsible for a new development in Ringwood, commencing January 2021. The development will be delivering family homes with health, wellbeing and sustainability at the core.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Health and Safety – To provide a safe working environment for all employees, subcontractors, suppliers, clients and visitors
- To manage and lead the works and subcontractors acting as the facilitator between the project management team as well as the subcontract works and the sub-contractors project team
- Maintaining quality control procedures
- Provide technical guidance to the site and resolve critical site issues
- Full responsibility and control of all site staff and subcontractors
- Supervising and overseeing the direction of the project, ensuring the specifications and requirements are met, reviewing progress, and liaising with quantity surveyors to monitor costs
- Oversee the new starter induction process and documentation requirements
- Ensure that the works are installed following the drawings, specifications and other requirements of the contract
- Making safety inspections and ensuring construction and site safety
- Checking and preparing site reports, designs and drawings
- Be accountable for development motivation and assessment of supervised staff and labour resources.
- Inputting into and maintaining the company’s digital project management software
- Ensure all building warranty inspections are carried out as required
- To optimise utilisation of material, equipment and staff
- Control and direct the work of all site-based operations
- Finding innovative ways to prevent problems and to solve any that crop up
Skills and Experience:
- A high level of attention to detail – following drawing and specification documents
- Outstanding technical knowledge required
- Highly dependable, loyal and keen to deliver above and beyond on the current industry standards
- Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and external teams – resolving issues and conflict
- Excellent organisational skills and decision-making ability
- Detailed knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation
About you
To succeed in this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate experience working as a site manager on a complex residential project as well as the following:
- Valid driving licence
- Construction-related level 4 and above qualification (HNC / NVQ)
- First Aid
- SMSTS
- CSCS card
